Begun in the winter of
2009-2010, this project aims to quantify crop residue burning and related
emissions - with a focus on black carbon - in the Russian Federation using
satellite data and available agricultural statistics. This project is a
collaboration of researchers at MTRI, the
University of Maryland, the All-Russian
Institute for Agrochemistry (Moscow), and the Dokuchaev Soil Institute (Moscow). Much
of this work was funded by the Clean Air Task
Force, with support from Bellona
Foundation in Russia.
This page hosts governmental
documents produced in Russia with English translations and the original Russian
version, datasets created during the research, and published manuscripts. Links
to related abstracts, posters, and presentations are also provided.
